Carnaval

One thing every person should have on their bucket list is to see and experience Brazil’s Carnaval.

Officially a festival to mark 40 days before Easter, it has evolved over the years into a celebration of everything Brazilian. Nothing in the world comes close to the quality, size and revelry the event creates in Brazil.

Imagine if you can, officially five days of non-stop celebration with music, dancing, fancy dress and a serious relaxing of society’s rules. During Carnaval Brazilians forget their problems and decide to live life carefree, strangers become friends, music fills the streets and for this short period there is peace and love in Brazil’s corner of the world.

No matter if it be a local “Bloco” (street party) or the grandiose Carnaval parade where Samba schools compete for the title of Carnaval champion. Carnaval is an experience like no other.

Volunteer Travel

We offer trips for individuals and small groups, who would like to experience the wonder and beauty of Brazil while at the same time give something back to people and communities who will benefit and greatly appreciate any help and support you can provide.

Our itineraries and activities aim to provide you time to enjoy the attractions in the incredible and unique locations you travel to while also allowing you to share your energy, knowledge and experiences. These actions will help lift those who will benefit most from you and your time.

Options include:

  • Time with disadvantaged infants, youth and/or the elderly (some locations with indigenous communities, others inner cities)
  • Support and care for abandoned domestic animals
  • Clean beaches in paradise like locations far away from the tourist centres.
  • Prepare a massive portion of traditional Brazilian food, to savour yourself, but then gift to those less fortunate.

Our offerings endeavour to make a real difference in local communities, and not just an Instagram post.

We’ve also adopted a hassle-free approach to volunteer trips, to take the stress of planning off your shoulders. All you need to do is relax and enjoy your project, while we do the work!

With the attraction of a massive firework displays, millions of people happily cram onto the famous Copacabana beach and celebrate seeing in the New Year. After the fireworks have ended millions of locals enact a unique mix of spiritual and superstitious rituals, one of which requires individuals to walk into the waters and jump seven waves while making seven wishes. Oktoberfest in Blumenau - SC

The Oktoberfest of Blumenau is a festival of German traditions that happens in the middle of October in the city of Blumenau, Santa Catarina. Over 18 days more than 700,000 people attend the second largest Oktoberfest in the world. Revellers consume more than 600,000 litres of beer almost 10,000 kilometres from the celebration’s origins in Germany.

Blumenau’s Oktoberfest was created in 1984, after a large flood from the Itajaí-Açu river, caused wide spread damage to the area. The original objective was to aid the rejuvenation of the city’s economy and morale, due to the success and determination of the local people the event has grown year after year to size and success we see today.

If you are a fan of beer, music, dancing and fancy dress (sound familiar) you should definitely plan a visit to Oktoberfest in Blumenau.

Rock in Rio

The Rock in Rio Festival is world-famous, and for many reasons. Number one; it’s HUGE! Many bands will be faced with an audience multiple times greater than anything they have ever played in front of and likely will ever perform on stage for again.

More than likely while surfing the internet you will have come across some video from the event, as bands know that their Brazilian fans are amongst their most passionate and enthusiastic and this combination of great music, thousands of screaming fans creates fantastic footage for special releases and You Tube channels.

Originally conceptualised as a festival of Rock, Rock in Rio has evolved into seven days and nights of concerts and entertainment celebrating all genres of music from Heavy metal, to Rock, to pop, to everything in between. Rock in Rio events guarantee to headline the biggest names in the world of music. When one attends Rock in Rio they are guaranteed to quench their musical thirst but know that this is not an annual event so fans need to stay tuned for the announcement of dates.
