Rio de Janeiro – Brazil

Often called “Cidade Maravilhosa” (The Marvellous City), Rio de Janeiro is world renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and location, nestled between lush, green mountains and crystal-clear seas. Rio is one of the most culturally and economically prominent cities in Brazil and features some of the country’s most famous tourist attractions such as Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain), Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer statue), and the iconic beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.

Other locations nearby that visitors might also be interested in visting include, Buzios and Ilha Grande.

Located 170 km from Rio de Janeiro a short, pleasant 2½ hour trip will take you to the peninsula of Búzios – home to more than 20 magnificent beaches with crystal-clear waters which are in perfect harmony with sculpted landscape and exotic vegetation. It is famed for its unique combination of rustic charm, distinctive architecture, incredible allure, and sophisticated restaurants and boutique stores.

Ilha Grande or the “Big Island” is a little piece of paradise! The practically virgin beaches of white sand of Ilha Grande are bathed by  emerald-green sea and covered by preserved Atlantic Forest. There are no cars to be found on the island and the best way to get around is by trekking through the Atlantic forest or catching a boat ride.
